The first Miss USSR Pageant was held in Moscow in 1989. Julia Sukhanova from Moscow was the first Miss USSR. Julia was granted theright to participate further in Miss World but her parents refused point-blank to sign the contract on her behalf. When the young beauty came of age she moved to the USA where she started the modelling career and later owned a company specializing on the sport equipment.

Russia Illustrated, the main magazine of Russian emigration, organized and launched the first Miss Russia beauty pageant in 1929. Girls of Russian origin living in all European states were invited to take part. The first Miss Russia, Valentina Osterman, was crowned in 1929 in Paris. She was disqualified for her German passport. First runner-up Irina Levitskaya succeeded her.

Elmira Abdrazakova / Эльмира Абдразакова (born October 7, 1994) - Miss Russia 2013. She will represent her country in the Miss World 2013 pageant and Miss Universe 2013 pageant. Elmira Abdrazakova is an ethnic Tatar.

In my opinion, the most beautiful Chinese girl is Li Bingbing / 李冰冰 (born 27 February 1973, Harbin, China). She is a chinese actress and singer.  Her height is 165 cm, weight is 47 kg. Li Bingbing is not Fan Bingbing's sister (the family name is Li).

Zhazira Nurimbetova (born October 17, 1991, Kentau, Kazakhstan) is Miss Kazakhstan 2012.

Elina Kireeva (born March 31, 1987) - Krasa Rossii (Russian:The Beauty of Russia) 2012. Elina is an ethnic Tatar.
Elina is 174 cm in height , weight is 54 kg, measurements: bust - 86, waist - 60, hips - 90.
